After four consecutive pole positions in as many race weekends in the 2025 season, Marc Marquez must “settle” for starting from the second position on the grid, mocked in the decisive qualifying session of the Spanish GP by the Yamaha of Fabio Quartararo. A result that, however, does not worry the MotoGp World Championship leader too much.

“It’went well, I’m still happy – explained the number 93 to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport‘ -. I knew that with the new tire I could make a little bit’ more effort in the tighter corners but I would say that the choices we made paid off. Congratulations to Fabio, his fast lap was incredible: I can see him also being strong on the race pace”.

Closing the series of consecutive pole positions, the one linked to the 2025 Sprint Races, so far all won by Marc Marquez, remains alive at least for a few hours: “Actually we are all very close – said the Ducatista -. In front there&#8217s Fabio, but there are also Pecco and Alex who can do well. It will be difficult to make a difference in today”s Sprint.

Marc Marquez, after four race weekends, leads the rainbow standings with 123 points, 17 more than his brother Alex and 26 ahead of Pecco Bagnaia. The Catalan’s stated goal is to win a ninth world title, which since’the year of his last rainbow success, 2019, has so far seemed a taboo.
