Serie A 2024-2025: Atalanta-Lecce, the likely lineups

On Sunday, April 27, at 8:45 p.m., Gasperini’s Atalanta will receive Marco Giampaolo’s Lecce at the Gewiss Stadium. The Giallorossi are desperate for salvation points. The match was initially scheduled for Friday night but, due to a serious bereavement that struck the visiting lineup in the hours leading up to the game, it was decided to postpone it to Sunday night.

Atalanta, momentarily sits in 3rd place in the standings with 64 points, in the middle of the Champions League zone.Lecce, on the other hand, finds itself embroiled in the fight not to relegate, given its only point lead over Venezia and Empoli. In fact, the Giallorossi have not found the three points since the 23rd day against Parma. The last few days have seen as many as 7 defeats and only 3 draws

For the match against Lecce Gasperini should take the field with 3-4-2-1. In front of Carnesecchi, confirmed between the posts, should act Hien, Djimsiti and the returning Kossounou. In the runoff with De Roon, who could drop back to complete the defensive trio. Bellanova on the right and Zappacosta on the left are likely to be the Nerazzurri’s full-band outfielders, with the median pair consisting of Ederson and Pasalic, if De Roon plays defender. In the three-quarter, space for the Pasalic-Lookman duo, supporting De Ketelaere. Summoned, however, is Mateo Retegui who, due to a fatigue, was in doubt for the match against Lecce.

Gianpoalo instead, should opt for a classic 4-3-3. Falcone, will probably be covered by the defensive line composed of Danilo Veiga, Gaspar, Baschirotto and Gallo. While in midfield Coulibaly will probably be helped by Ramadani and Helgason. In attack to make up for the heavy absence of the Montenegrin bomber, Giampaolo could give space to Rebic, with on his flanks Morente on the left and Pierotti on the right.
