UYBA Volleyball Busto Arsizio has enthusiastically announced the return of Alessia Gennari, one of the most representative figures in the club’s history. Alessia has already worn the white-and-red jersey for four seasons, from 2017 to 2021, also serving as captain. During that time, she was the protagonist of great challenges in Italy and Europe, culminating in winning the 2018-2019 CEV Cup.

After enriching her palmares with l’Imoco Volleyball, Alessia embarked on a new and challenging experience in the United States, where she participated in the first edition of League One Volleyball (LOVB) with the Austin team.
And it was no ordinary adventure: Gennari won the LOVB championship, crowning her American season with another title to add to her impressive resume. Also sharing the triumph with her were Carli Lloyd and Juliann Faucette, two familiar faces beloved by the Bustocca fans who have written important pages in the history of UYBA.

A circle that closes, a bridge between past, present and future red and white.

“I am very happy to have had this experience abroad’admitted Gennari -, in such a particular context as the LOVB, the first American professional league, being able to perceive all the enthusiasm that there is around this project and surrounded by so many important players who have embraced this new idea. Then something happened: for me it was a trying challenge that tested me a lot on a personal level, because everything was very different from what I had always been used to. I was probably not able to express myself at my best, and I had been reasoning for some time that the last years of my career I wanted to live at home, close to the people who love me”.

“The UYBA that I left is different from the one I have today– he added, but the people who follow the team, primarily President Giuseppe Pirola and other key figures have remained and I perhaps have my best memories of my career in Busto Arsizio. The fact that Jennifer Boldini is also on the team was a great incentive for me to decide to come back here: we played together and I am very proud of her for all she has done over the years; UYBA also gave her the opportunity to grow and provided a stage where she could consolidate in the A1 series″.

“I have been following the team this year and I must say that it has had an extraordinary championship: I believe that the fellowship among the girls and the technical level of each one has led to these results, even managing to put a top team like Scandicci in serious difficulty in the quarterfinals of the playoffs. I saw that game and I was impressed by some of the players, including Rebecca Piva who I have been watching for a while’ and I really like her a lot: she is a complete player. That”s why I”m very happy to be able to work with these girls: I felt the enthusiasm and I hope I can lend a hand, in any way, both on and off the court” concluded the Farfalle&#8221s new acquisition.
