After three consecutive defeats that cost them elimination in the Coppa Italia and overtaking Napoli in the league, the Inter will try to raise their heads again against the Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals. Speaking at a press conference, the meneghini coach went down flat on the game plan to be set up to put the Blaugrana in trouble.

“When you get to play a Champions League semifinal, you cannot say you are going through a difficult period. There’s enthusiasm, then we come from a bad week, but we want to play our best in the semifinal and we know that the first leg match always has a specific weight. Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world, and we will have to be good in everything to trouble such a strong opponent” began the Inter coach.

“The boys have done something extraordinary so far, the last week does not erase the work done for four years, with so many stakes and so much clarity from the club. In the last three games we had to do better, but the work has allowed us to get to this point in the season in the running for all the goals, when someone had said it would be difficult to get in the top four in Italy. You will never hear me speak ill of my boys, because it is thanks to them that we have achieved such results” continued the meneghini’coach.

“Ambition must always be there, we&#8217ve always shown it. We don&#8217t know how the season will end: the championship no longer depends on us, in Champions we are in the best teams in Europe. The boys have given everything, the last week has not been positive but the team will make this semifinal with a lot of desire and then we will see who will go to the final” added the former Lazio man.

“Thuram trained with the team, did a good job and gave good sensations, but I will evaluate after finishing and after talking with him. The others apart from Pavard are all there. As a brace I have several alternatives like Bisseck, Darmian or even De Vrij” concluded Simone Inzaghi.
