Champions, Barcelona-Inter: Hansi Flick has clear ideas

With twenty-four hours to go before the Champions League semifinal first leg between Barcelona and Inter Milan, which will be played on Wednesday at 9 p.m. at the Blaugrana’s temporary home, the Olympic Stadium ‘Lluís Companys’ in Montjuic, the Catalans’ coach Hansi Flick seems to have clear ideas about his opponents and urges everyone not to underestimate the Nerazzurri despite having lost three consecutive matches between the league and the Coppa Italia.
The German coach said that the team’s main focus is on the game – the Inter Milan team is a tough team and the team is a tough one.
“First of all we have to focus on the match – said the German coach in the press conference -. Inter is a tough team and defensively they are among the best in Europe. Also in the other roles they have strong players and they exploit the restarts well. It will not be an easy match at all, we will have to be prepared to get the best possible result for the return match”.
“Inter’s style of play is also effective in midfield – added Flick– because with the five-man line they occupy spaces well: our task is to manage the situation, keep possession of the ball and make the right decisions in defense. That of spaces is an important issue, covering them in the best way can make the difference”.
“I don“t think the fact that they missed out on the ‘triplete’ can weigh in any way on their performance – explained the Barcelona coach again, speaking of Inter -. It’s a team that knows how to adapt to situations, we simply have to think about playing our game: our level will have to be very high to win”.
