Marcell Jacobs bitter: "If Tortu knew it would be a beating"

Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs in an interview with the RAI program “Belve” spoke about the espionage case and the involvement of Filippo Tortu’s brother, Giacomo: “Honestly, I was quite hurt. A news that shocked me a little bit’ I did not expect it”.
“The moment I won the Olympics I, quote-unquote, obscured a little bit’ what was the path that Philip had been on since 2018. The fact that they violated my privacy was the thing that really bothered me the most” continued l’Blue.
“Philip, the way I know him and the way I’ve experienced him from Tokyo to now, I could never think that he knew about this thing”, Jacobs confessed. “If it comes out that he knew? That would be quite a blow, personally and for the whole relay team“.
“I haven’t had a chance to see him, certainly in the first approach there’s going to be some embarrassment. Fire the brother? I don’t think so, he’s the brother — I’d have done it”.
