Matteo Bertelle, track return date still an'unknown: latest updates

A little more than three weeks after the’accident that caused him to fracture his left humerus and right tibia, Matteo Bertelle is about to begin a long rehabilitation path with the support of the Levelup-Mta team, which on Tuesday issued an update on the rider who this year won his first podium in Moto3, in Texas, just a few days before the accident.
“Our rider is still hospitalized, but his condition is gradually improving – the note reads – Despite the difficulties, Matteo has never stopped showing his strength of spirit: he followed the last race weekend with attention and transport, confirming, if ever there was a need, the genuine passion that binds him to this sport and the Team”.
“Over the past few weeks, the clinical picture has become clearer: the injury caused significant injuries to both lower and upper limbs, particularly the arm and leg. An intensive rehabilitation course for the arm will begin shortly, while the recovery of the fractured leg will require a longer and more delicate period”.
“As of today, it is not possible to set with certainty a date for a return to the track. The recovery will depend on the clinical evolution and the progress that Matteo will be able to make, step by step, with the determination that distinguishes him. Team Levelup-Mta and the Family are by his side, every day, looking to the future. We know he will be back. When he is ready, when his body will allow him, Matteo will find his bike, the track, the public again. And that green light waiting for him already” concludes the Italian team.
