The troubled season of Novak Djokovic continues. After his untimely elimination from the Madrid Masters 1000, the Serbian tennis player announced his forfeit for the Internazionali d’Italia. The Serb&#8217s absence was made known by the tournament organizers themselves through an official post on their X profile.

“Novak Djokovic has announced that he will not participate in #IBI25. See you next year, Nole” this was the note issued by the capital tournament.

At the Foro Italico, the Belgrade native has triumphed six times, winning a total of 12 finals. In addition, the 2025 edition will be the first to be skipped by the Serb, who, with the exception of 2006, has always reached at least the quarterfinals.

Novak Djokovic, therefore, will still have to postpone his appointment with winning the 100th career title.

In addition to the Serbian, Carlos Alcaraz and Matteo Berrettini would also be in strong doubt for Rome. Those, however, who will definitely be present is Jannik Sinner, who will make his return to the court after his three-month disqualification for the Clostebol case.
