Last December 20, Ezio Simonelli became the new president of the Lega Serie A. Several months after taking office, he wanted to take stock of the situation within the League and put on the plate proposals to improve, in the short/medium term, Italian soccer.

Between the urgencies there&#8217s certainly that of creating new and modern stadiums, so as to better cope with the new needs of Italian soccer: “The first is the stadiums discourse, a real emergency for the country: the problem must be addressed, not only in view of Euro 2032“ his words to Corriere della Sera.

Ezio Simonelli also expects major reliefs, at the tax level, so as to be able to invest in nurseries and an even tougher fight against piracy that entails an “… economic damage of 350 million euros a year for sports”.

Then there is the desire to play more and more league matches abroad. The Milan-Como experiment in Perth intrigues but the aim is to do much more. You could already have had a first day of Serie A on foreign soil: “I would have liked to play the first day of the championship away from Italy, I had received an economic proposal in the United States. It would be nice to be able to do that in the future”. Finally, a dream: to have the matches played at 8 p.m. and no longer at 8:45 p.m. The reason? To attract young people.
