Terror in the water: Gallinari’s wife attacked by a shark

Moments of sheer terror experienced by Eleonora Boi in Isla Verde, in northern Puerto Rico. The wife of Danilo Gallinari, player of the Puerto Rican team Vaqueros de Bayamón, was attacked by a shark.

The journalist, currently pregnant, was injured in the right leg. Immediately rescued (she was transported to the Rio Piedras Medical Center), she is not in life-threatening danger, although the shark’s attack caused her a rather deep wound and, above all, a lot of fear because of what happened in the water.

“Based on the photographs provided to us, we believe that the characteristics of the bite could be compatible with those of a shark” the words reported by the Daily Mail of marine biologist Nilda Jiménez, coordinator of the Protected Species Program. At the moment, it is not yet known what species of shark attacked Danilo Gallinari’s wife and the true extent of the damage caused, although several media outlets are reporting a situation completely under control that does not cause particular concern.

The couple has not yet issued any official statement. It should be mentioned that Danilo Gallinari is currently engaged, with his team, in the playoffs of the highest Puerto Rican basketball league. The 36-year-old Gallo is in his first season with the Vaqueros de Bayamón.
