Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton becomes a case

The words of Lewis Hamilton after finishing 12th in Q2 of the Hungarian Grand Prix and consequent elimination from the decisive Q3 were very striking. All in the face of teammate Charles Leclerc’s resounding pole position.

There is no doubt that Hamilton, already the author of two disastrous qualifying runs at Spa last week, is having a difficult time, but today at the Hungaroring he even went so far as to call himself useless, and that Ferrari should change drivers.

Certainly, Hamilton is coming out of the confrontation with Leclerc with broken bones: 4-10 in qualifying and 2-10 in Grands Prix, with not a single podium to his credit, but he is still the only race winner in 2025 behind the wheel of a Maranello Red, caught in China, even if it was only a sprint.

What will Ferrari do next? Will it go after another driver or will it back him for the remaining races of the year ahead of 2026, which is also why Hamilton was hired in view of next year’s rule change as well?

Ferrari fans can only hope that the four-week break between Hungary and Holland will serve to recharge Hamilton’s batteries so that in the last ten races he can at least put forth performances minimally worthy of his glorious past.
