Jannik Sinner as Gigi Riva: Angelo Binaghi’s revelation

The president of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation Angelo Binaghi spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport on the sidelines of the “Sport, Growth and Development” event in Cagliari, where the first edition of the Gigi Riva Trophy will be staged this evening.
“What Jannik Sinner is today for a generation of young Italians was Gigi Riva,” the Federtennis number one stressed. “They are both champions of humble origins who come from small villages. They were lucky enough to grow up in healthy families and made good use of sound principles. They are different from everyone else, they multiply the positive effects on society.”
Binaghi also spoke about Matteo Berrettini, who is going through a complicated period: “Seeing him train with Sinner has brought back my good mood: just yesterday I wrote to him in a message. Although he has had some problems, it is fundamental to recover a guy with his personality and charisma.”
“Both for the Davis Cup team and for the whole Italian movement, Italian tennis still needs him. Together with Sinner they must be the guide for our young people,” Binaghi concluded.
