Closing with two victories against Liverpool (4-2) and Perth Glory (9-0) the tour of Asia and Oceania that began with a ‘short-muscled’ defeat against Arsenal (1-0, with the consolation of success in the penalty shootout series kicked after 90′), Milan is preparing for its upcoming preseason engagements, on August 9 and 10 against Leeds United and Chelsea.

For the players, the matches away from home were an opportunity to try to cement the group under the orders of the new coach, Massimiliano Allegri. One of the Rossoneri veterans, Fikayo Tomori, said he was more than satisfied with the impact the Livorno coach is having on the squad that will attempt next year’s assault on the top four positions in the league.

“The thing that the coach told us right away –said the English defender, class of 1997, to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ -, and we knew well, is that we lack continuity. Last year we had too many ups and downs in performance and during this season we need to be more concrete and more balanced”.

“We have understood what the coach wants and we are getting used to it because these are different demands from the past. We are working well and hard. We are preparing ourselves and when the three points are up for grabs, you will see that we will be ready” Tomori then said with conviction, ready to face his sixth season in a Rossoneri jersey.
