On the morning of Saturday, August 2, came the officialization of Daniele Ghilardi’s arrival at Roma. The 2003-born defender played his first Serie A championship last season, performing well with the Hellas Verona shirt. He is also a stable presence in the youth national teams, having played in the Under-17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 Azzurri.

“Hello to all Giallorossi fans, I am very happy to wear this jersey and I look forward to seeing you all at the Stadio Olimpico” said Ghilardi in a short video shared by the club on social channels, a message addressed to supporters shortly after wearing the Giallorossi jersey for the first time, at the presentation.

As specified in the club’s note, Ghilardi chose the’87 as his jersey number, a uniform that the Giallorossi club hopes to have the Lucca native wear at least until the end of the newly signed contract on June 30, 2030. The player will reinforce the Giallorossi’s defensive package and can be employed in the center of the 4-man defense or as an element of the 3-man defense, preferred by Gasperini.
