Juventus, Timothy Weah situation unblocked: his future defined

Juventus soccer market: Timothy Weah is about to take off the Juventus jersey. The U.S. national player was long known as a luxury redundancy of Idor Tudor’s team, freshly confirmed, however, by Damien Comolli. The timing for his transfer to Olympique Marseille, despite all these knots, now seems ripe.

After the feeling that his departure had become complicated, in fact, on Sunday the situation seems to have been unblocked. In fact, Juventus is reportedly one step away from saying yes to Marseille on the basis of an onerous loan worth just €1 million, but with a mandatory redemption of €14 million. Not only that, because the achievement of several goals could trigger another 3 million in bonuses.

Already since June, there had been talk of Weah’s almost foregone farewell to Juventus, but only under conditions liked by the Bianconeri. This is also why the 25-year-old midfielder’s attorney had also raised his voice, apparently in vain. Indeed, his and his client’s will was clear: only Olympique Marseille, with a firm no to the prospect of a move to the Premier League, to Nottingham Forest.

“Weah wants to go to Marseille, but in soccer it is not the players who can choose their destination. If you lack a’fair offer, you stay on the sidelines. And such an offer for him has not yet come to us” Comolli himself had said recently. Now in the meantime, the situation appears to have changed, and Juventus’ yes to the transfer may indeed be imminent.
