Cincinnati roster drawn: Jannik Sinner’s possible opponents

The Cincinnati Masters 1000 men’s singles draw has been made, and Jannik Sinner, after taking advantage of a first-round bye as the No. 1 seed, will meet the winner between a qualifier or lucky loser and Czech Vit Kopriva.
Jannik, last year’s winner on Ohio’s concrete courts, could have Taylor Fritz as his theoretical opponent if he makes it to the semifinals. On the other side of the scoreboard, however, again theoretically, Carlos Alcaraz would have Alexander Zverev.
But most importantly, in the quarterfinals, Sinner could cross paths with Lorenzo Musetti. The other possible top-eight pairings would be Fritz versus Holger Rune, Zverev versus Ben Shelton, and Alcaraz versus Alex De Minaur.
After a debut that promises to be rather easy, Sinner could have in the sixteenth round the Canadian Gabriel Diallo, and in the eighth round one between the Czech Tomas Machac and the American Tommy Paul. In the quarters, in addition to Musetti, Sinner’s possible opponents could be Casper Ruud, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
