Accident during a tire test for Franco Colapinto, Alpine destroyed

An accident without serious consequences during tire testing in Budapest for Franco Colapinto. The driver of the dell’Alpine went off the track, ending up at the wall in turn 11: violent impact and single-seater destroyed, while the 22-year-old Argentine was taken to the medical center for assessment.

According to what the’Alpine has made known, Colapinto is fine and did not suffer any serious injuries, but he still hit the barriers violently, which is why the test is over for him and the team.

“During the second day of Pirelli tire testing at the’Hungaroring, Franco Colapinto was involved in an accident at Turn 11. He was examined at the medical center and is fine”, the note from the’Alpine.

McLaren, Racing Bulls and Ferrari also took part in the test. The focus is on tire development for next season: the sole supplier must notify Fia by Sept. 1 which compounds it will use for 2026.
