Lewis Hamilton, Frederic Vasseur had underestimated a probema

Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur returned to Dazn Spain midway through a more disappointing championship than expected: “In a season like this, when there are so many expectations and then you go through a bad period, it is very easy to give up”.

“Charles Leclerc has never done that and has always given his all, supporting the team and working excellently with Hamilton”, he tried to see the glass half full.

“We underestimated the challenge that Lewis faced at the beginning of the season, at the end he was coming from a 20-year career in the Mercedes environment and changing all that is not easy. Both Lewis and I underestimated what that change meant, from the culture to the people” he added.

The goal now is set: “We want to have a strong second half of the season. We know McLaren has won 11 out of 14 races so far, but we want to score some successes and always maximize our potential”.
