Camila Giorgi was born on Dec. 30, 1991, in Macerata, Marche, to Argentine parents: her mother, Claudia Fullone, of Taranto origin, and her father, the demanding Sergio, with roots in Perugia. Three siblings: Leandro, Amadeus and Antonela, the latter tragically deceased from the consequences of a car accident in France.
Since childhood Camila has played sports, starting with artistic gymnastics then getting into tennis. In 2000 she was noticed by Nick Bollettieri, but preferred to continue to be followed by her father. In 2006 she got a wild card for the Bonfiglio Trophy, marking her debut in Italian tournaments.
From there she began her professional career, initially in minor tournaments, until her first qualification in the major circuit in 2008. During those years he moved several times, living in Spain, Paris and Miami, before returning to Italy in 2013. That same year she suffered a shoulder injury that forced her to stop, but she returned, ending the season at number 93 in the world rankings. She also collaborates with various sportswear brands.
