Inter Milan soccer market: Ademola Lookman is betrothed to the Nerazzurri of Milan, but remains under contract with those of Bergamo despite the current break with that’Atalanta of which he was a major player until last season. The’last one in which at the helm of the orobici was Gian Piero Gasperini, who despite the move to Roma wanted to get into the situation of his former protégé and the hottest case of the 2025 summer soccer market.

“The’only thing I can say is that I am sorry – said Gasperini speaking to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport‘ -. When things like this happen, the risk is to remember the players involved only for the latest episodes and not for the beautiful moments we experienced together. I am sorry for both Lookman and Atalanta. My wish is that everything will be resolved as soon as possible”.

Ademola Lookman arrived at Atalanta on Aug. 4, 2022, purchased from Leipzig for about 12 million euros. Every one of the 117 games he has played since then for the Orobica lineup (punctuated by 52 goals, including 39 in Serie A) has occurred under the technical guidance of Gian Piero Gasperini. Including the most important one: the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, in which the Anglo-Nigerian striker scored a historic hat trick. However, this does not mean that there were no rifts between the two, especially in the last season.

The most famous case remains that of last February, when Gasperini put Lookman in the crosshairs for the missed penalty in the match that anchored Atalanta’s elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bruges. But this is hardly the’only high-tension precedent between the two. One need only think of what he stated in January 2023, after the’elimination from the Coppa Italia at the hands of, as it happens, Inter. “We could have played better, we were under rhythm with some players. Lookman out of the starting lineup? The way he came in he could have stayed out a little longer’…” said the Grugliasco coach on that occasion.
