Elite Series, next season’s calendar unveiled
Through an official statement, the Italian Rugby League has unveiled the calendar for the 2025-2026 Serie A Elite, which will start next October 11 and end on April 25, 2026. The playoffs will kick off on May 9 and close on the 30th.
The double semi-final round between the first and fourth place finishers and the second and third place finishers at the end of the regular season (first leg on May 9/10; return on May 16/17), will determine the two finalists for the title of the 2025/26 Men’s Absolute Italian Champion 2025/26 who will face each other on the weekend of May 29/30 (venue to be determined).
Home debut for defending Italian champions Femi-CZ Rugby Rovigo and 2024/25 finalist Rugby Viadana 1970 who will face Sitav Rugby Lyons and Mogliano Veneto Rugby, respectively. Newly promoted Biella Rugby Club will travel to the capital for their debut in the top national division at the Fiamme Oro Rugby ground while Rangers Vicenza will receive Petrarca Rugby. Completing the first day’s schedule is the Emilia derby between HBS Colorno and Valorugby Emilia.
We will have to wait until the new year to witness the remake of the 2025 final between Rovigo’s Bersaglieri and Viadana’s XV: the match, valid for the seventh round of competitions, is scheduled at Mario Battaglini Stadium on Saturday, January 10.
