Lorenzo Musetti is in Cincinnati in search of answers after the last difficult weeks on the circuit: the Carrara tennis player, surprisingly eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon, also exited early in Washington and Toronto and must find his way back to the top 10 of the ATP rankings: his 2025, which seemed to be turning for the better, is now in an impasse that must be overcome as soon as possible.

“On this surface I still don&#8217t feel at my best to express my tennis, but having played a few weeks before this tournament gives me hope to adapt as best as possible” said Lorenzo Musetti in a press conference. L’Azzurro will face in the first round of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 the French Benjamin Bonzi, who defeated Matteo Arnaldi last Thursday.

The two tennis players have faced each other only once before, in 2024 at the Australian Open: Musetti won in four hard-fought sets against the transalpine, who is currently number 63 in the ATP rankings.

The match is scheduled for Saturday, August 9, at 5 p.m. Italian time: whoever wins will face either Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas or Hungary’s Fabian Marozsan in the second round.
