PSG dumps Donnarumma: from hero in Champions League to redundancy

Just a few weeks ago Donnarumma was raising the Champions League to the sky. A resounding success, which also came thanks to his incredible performance. Not surprisingly, the Azzurri goalkeeper is among the candidates for the next Ballon d’Oro. Yet despite the brilliant season he just had, Donnarumma was “invited” to find himself another club.

The PSG has decided to invest in Chevalier, a 23-year-old extreme defender of great quality who, in his own words, also knows how to play the ball with his feet: “The role of the goalkeeper is very important in his system, he expects him to be at the center of the game, to bring added value” the statements of the new PSG goalkeeper wanted by coach Luis Enrique.

Since his arrival in Paris, Donnarumma has often been criticized. Among the many accusations is that he is not good with his feet. As if that were not enough, his contract expiring at the end of the current season did not help. In the end, Donnarumma went from being one of the heroes of the Champions League to a redundancy.

Now to see what he will want to do. There is talk of strong interest from Manchester City but, at the moment, nothing would be certain. Not to be ruled out, however, is the possibility that Donnarumma will remain at PSG until the end of his contract, so that he would then become a parameter zero. He&#8217s already done it in his time at AC Milan. He certainly will not be in Udine to play the European Super Cup between the goal posts of PSG.
