Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are the two champions who are currently monopolizing the ATP circuit: despite their young age, they have already won a total of 9 Grand Slam tournaments, and they have been the protagonists of the last two finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. The Italian and the Spaniard are currently number one and number two in the world rankings, and the gap with other tennis players seems to widen with each tournament.

Casper Ruud disagrees, who in an interview with the podcast ‘The Sit Down’ commented on the current moment in tennis: “There are two players who have risen to a slightly higher level” said the Norwegian tennis player.

“But I remain convinced that Jannik and Carlos can be caught up, so to speak, caught up and beaten”.

“Otherwise – Ruud said dryly – I don’t think I would be here if I didn’t think I could beat them, don’t you think?”. Ruud lost all four matches played against Sinner, while he won one of the five matches played against Alcaraz.
