Jannik Sinner won against Gabriel Diallo in Cincinnati his 23rd consecutive victory on concrete, record numbers that propel him among the great tennis legends of the past. According to a statistic reported by TNT Sports, l’Azzurro won 94.8% of matches played on fast courts in 2024, with 55 wins and only 3 losses, and this season he is on a 95% winning streak (38-2): numbers that put him third all-time behind only Roger Federer, dominant in 2005 and 2006.

The statistic, however, did not convince former U.S. tennis player Mardy Fish, who on social media downgraded the Blue: “Now compare the tennis players Roger has faced to those who have faced Sinner…I hang up and listen”.

A skeptical stance that sparked a storm on social media between those who agree with him, and those who consider him just a hater of the Blue’Blue.

Fueling the controversy even more was Mardy Fish’s dry response to a provocative question from a fan: “Am I right when I say that Roger Federer has never been caught using steroids, unlike this guy”. “You are right”, commented Fish, who disguised himself as Nick Kyrgios for a day by poking the world number one about the Clostebol case, which has long since been cleared up and closed.
