Jasmine Paolini is ready to return to the court for a quarterfinal with a special flavor at the Cincinnati Open 2025. The Italian tennis player, the No. 7 seed, will face Czech Barbora Krejčíková on Thursday, Aug. 14, scheduled on the main P&G Center Court no earlier than 5 p.m. Italian time.

This will be the first face-off between the two since the 2024 Wimbledon final, won by Krejcikova in three sets (6-2, 2-6, 6-4) at the end of a hard-fought match full of changes of pace. The overall record speaks for itself: two challenges, two wins for the Czech. The first precedent dates back to the 2018 Australian Open qualifiers, with a clear 6-2, 6-1 win in her favor.

For Paolini, the challenge in Cincinnati thus represents a double opportunity: to hit the semifinals in one of the most prestigious tournaments of the season and to avenge the London defeat that, despite the disappointment, had confirmed her growth at the highest level of the WTA circuit.

Krejcikova arrives at the appointment strong with a solid and complete tennis, capable of alternating precision and variation, while Paolini relies on her quickness, aggressiveness from the backcourt and ability to overturn the inertia of matches. The American public is thus preparing to witness a duel between two players who, in recent months, have been able to make their mark in the big dates.
