Another nightmarish Sprint Race for Pecco Bagnaia, who was forced to retire due to a rear tire problem midway through Saturday&#8217s race at the Grand Prix of Austria. “Before I say something wrong, I would like to wait until Michelin can tell me what happened” began the Ducati centaur to the microphones of Sky Sport.

“We can&#8220t explain it. From the wamp up lap I felt something strange – admitted the Piedmontese -. Then I took off, I had a sudden slip. After 3 laps I completely ran out of tire behind, I started to ‘shaker’ on the straight in a peculiar way. The bike was very unstable, so much so that I got to the first corner without brakes. From there I pulled out because it didn” make no sense.

“With the tire completely finished, I couldn&#8217t accelerate outside the corners– continued the three-time world champion.

“I was trying to push in the straights and it started to spin. The instability of the bike, which was moving a lot, is related to the grip behind. There were pieces missing on the tire but that fits, when it pushes that much the temperature goes up a lot and you get bubbles”.

“It is normal that some blister had created, but I don&#8217t point the finger at anyone because I don&#8217t think it was something predictable. It is something we need to work on to avoid them in the future” concluded Bagnaia.
