Premier League 2025-2026: Tottenham-Burnley, the likely lineups

Reduced by the bitter denouement of the European Super Cup, with PSG able to come back in the final and then win on penalties, Tottenham wants to raise its head again in the first seasonal engagement of the new Premier League: Spurs will face Burnley on Saturday at home, a club since 2021 in the metaphorical “elevator” which takes it to alternate years in the English top league and Championship.
Repared to the Udine match against the Parisians, Tottenham coach Thomas Frank may prefer a lineup more focused on strengthening the midfield, with Sarr and Bentancur confirmed in the midfield but Odobert and Bergvall a little further forward in place of Palhinha and Richarlison. Vicario, among the best of his team in the Super Cup despite the final defeat, is confirmed in goal.
As for the Clarets, on the other hand, coach Scott Parker is expected to go for a classic 3-5-2 with veteran Kyle Walker, back in England after six months of ups and downs at AC Milan, employed in the three-man defense on the right flank rather than as a pure flanker. In attack, the focus is on South African Lyle Foster and newcomer Loum Tchaouma, in the last two seasons in Italy, first at Salernitana and then at Lazio.
Probable lineups
TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Sarr, Bentancur; Odobert, Bergvall, Kudus; Solanke. All: Frank.
BURNLEY (3-5-2): Dubravka; Walker, Esteve, Ekdal; Sonne, Mejbri, Cullen, Ugochukwu, Hartman; Foster, Tchaouna. All: Parker.
