Ducati, Pecco Bagnaia ninth but smiles: "There"s a big change"

Advances for Pecco Bagnaia despite finishing ninth in the Gran Premio d’Ungheria at Balaton Park. The Piedmontese centaur to the microphones of Sky spoke for the first time of important progress in his feeling with the GP25: “After Saturday’s change I returned to be a little more master of my bike”.
“This is something that makes me very happy. The race pace, when I was able to push, was good, it was to make the podium, so we have to start from here. We have to be calm and serene and try to work in this direction. Saturday’s was a big change, really big, but I am sure it will lead us to achieve a lot”.
The change came well past mid-season: “In the last two races I struggled a lot and here in the whole weekend I think I never got inside the ten, so it was critical to make a change that made sense. And when you make a change that makes sense you are no longer talking about millimeters, but centimeters”.
On the long lap penalty: “I went long because I was catching up on the group in front of me and too much confidence led me to make a mistake on one occasion. So I went long and tried to slow down as much as I could. I thought I lost a second, but instead I lost ‘only’ eight tenths, so I was still ‘missing’ two tenths and they gave me the penalty. That’s how it went, it’s a shame”.
