Serie B: Modena expels Ferraris, Samp goes down

Sampdoria knocked out on the first day of the Serie B championship: Modena went through at Ferraris 2-0 thanks to goals by Santoro and Zanimacchia in the second half.

First half blocked, the Dorians started better but then left the initiative to the opponents who came close to taking the lead with Tonoli and Santoro. In the resumption, the Canarini materialized their dominance by unlocking the result on 75′ with Santoro, who struck from outside the box with a conclusion at the cross of the posts.

The Canarinians were able to break the deadlock.

Samp became unbalanced and on 90′ came Modena’s double, signed Zanimacchia on an assist from Magnino. In the standings, the Emilians reach Cesena, Empoli, Frosinone, Carrarese, Venezia, Palermo and Monza at the top.
