Venus Williams over the moon after narrow feat at US Open

Venus Williams, back at the US Open at age 45, did not make it past the first round, defeated head-on by Czech Karolina Muchova in three sets (6-3, 2-6, 6-1).
The result, in certain cases, however, takes a back seat: the legendary American, who does not seem to have the’intention of calling it quits with Flushing Meadows for good, appeared serene, even emotional, at the end of a match in which she enjoyed herself and entertained the audience in attendance
“I think for me, getting back on the court meant giving me a chance to play in better health. When you play limited physically, it stays in your head. It’s not just a matter of feeling. You get stuck mentally, too,” she recounted.
“It was good to feel freer,” the racquetball star added at a press conference.
