Who is Petar Sucic, Inter’s new jewel who shone on debut

There is a new face who immediately caught the attention of Inter fans. He is Petar Sucic, a Bosnian midfielder of Croatian origin born in Livno on Oct. 25, 2003, who landed in the summer from Dinamo Zagreb and starred in a debut to be framed in the 5-0 win against Torino.
Sucic started kicking the ball in small clubs in his hometown before joining the youth sector of Zrinjski Mostar. With the Bosnian club he took his first steps in the professional ranks, putting himself on the map to the point of attracting the interest of Dinamo Zagreb, which included him in its second team and then promoted him permanently to the first team. The growth was rapid: a starter in the Croatian league, a protagonist in Europe and able to enrich his palmarès with championship, cup and supercup. In June 2025 came the big call from Inter Milan, who tied him down with a five-year contract.
His footballing identity card tells of a complete and modern midfielder, capable of acting as a midfielder in front of the defense but also as a dynamic halfback, with a sense of insertion, quality in passing and aggressiveness in pressing. A profile that fits perfectly into the tradition of the Balkan school: solid technique, game vision and character.
The debut at San Siro could not have been more convincing. With Hakan Çalhanoğlu disqualified, Cristian Chivu threw him into the heart of midfield from the first minute. Sucic responded with personality: 91% accuracy in passing, two shots on goal, contrasts won and, above all, a decisive assist for Marcus Thuram, which put the match on the downhill slope already in the first half. For 90 minutes he showed maturity and confidence, moving naturally in a new and challenging context like Serie A.
The press has already labeled him as an “all-around midfielder,” a player capable of covering different areas of the field without losing lucidity. But at the end of the game Sucic chose the path of humility: “I don’t want to talk about me, the important thing is the team’s victory”. Simple words that well reflect his attitude to work and sacrifice.
In short, Inter seems to have found a new talent on which to build the present and future of the midfield. Young, versatile, concrete and hungry, Petar Sucic has already won the trust of the coach and the enthusiasm of the fans. If his debut was a calling card, the prospects for his Nerazzurri adventure can only be bright.
