These are hot hours for AC Milan’s soccer market, which aims to reinforce itself with at least three signings by the end of the summer session. Among the most suggestive names pops up that of Christopher Nkunku, a French striker who could become an absolute coup for the Rossoneri.

A class of 1997, Nkunku grew up in the youth sector of Paris Saint-Germain, where he took his first steps in professional soccer. In 2019, he chose to leave the French capital to move to the Bundesliga to RB Leipzig, the club where he made his definitive explosion. With the Germans, he has established himself as one of the most complete and modern offensive players on the European scene, capable of playing different roles: trequartista, second striker, offensive outside forward and even atypical center forward.

His most memorable season was 2022/2023, when he netted 23 goals in 36 appearances, dragging Leipzig to another Champions League qualification and establishing himself as one of the best talents in the Bundesliga. His main talents are his speed, technique in tight situations and ability to move between the lines constantly creating numerical superiority. A player who combines imagination and concreteness, qualities that are increasingly rare in modern soccer.

His exploits attracted the attentions of several top clubs, and in 2023 Chelsea bought him to include him in their Premier League revival project. His London adventure, however, was complicated by several injuries that limited his continuity and impact. Precisely because of this, now, Nkunku seems ready to get back into the game in a new competitive context such as the Rossoneri.

According to the latest rumors, AC Milan and Chelsea have already reached an agreement on the basis of 40 million euros (37 fixed plus 3 in bonuses). Details on the salary remain to be ironed out, with a contract close to 5 million euros per season: the long-awaited white smoke could arrive in the next few hours.

For Milan, this would be a graft capable of significantly raising the technical and offensive rate of the squad. Nkunku would represent that mix of talent, international experience and tactical ductility that Stefano Pioli is looking for to enrich the attacking department. Should the deal go through, Rossoneri fans could soon welcome to the San Siro a player capable of making a difference in both Serie A and the Champions League.
