Here is the statement with which Roma announced on its official website the purchase of 20-year-old Polish defender Jan Ziółkowski.
“AS Roma is pleased to announce the outright purchase of Jan Ziółkowski from Legia Warsaw. A central defender, born in 2005, he grew up in the youth academy of Polonia Warsaw.”
“In 2022 he moved to Legia Warsaw collecting several appearances both in Ekstraklasa (the highest Polish league) and in UEFA competitions (40 in tolal with 2 goals, ed). Ziółkowski has chosen jersey number 24.”
With Legia Ziółkowski won a Polish Cup in 2023-2024 and at youth national team level he has put together 10 appearances and 1 goal between Poland Under 18, Under 19 and Under 20.
