Udinese surprises Inter at San Siro, Lazio avalanche over Verona

Lazio overwhelms Verona at the Olimpico, Inter surprisingly falls at San Siro against an excellent Udinese. These are the two results of Sunday evening, which close the program of the second day of Serie A not without twists and turns. Which undoubtedly concern the bombastic 4-0 home win of Maurizio Sarri’s team, but focus in particular on the unexpected 1-2 remedied by Cristian Chivu’s team.
Inter, sent out by Chivu with several changes from the men chosen in the triumphant season debut against Torino, also started the match promisingly. Lautaro Martinez won the first corner after less than two minutes, then Sava made up for a risky own goal by Bertola. The goal is in the air, and Dumfries finds it on 17′ on Thuram’s first attempt. Udinese, however, did not stand idly by (Bayo had already come close to taking the lead), and on 28′ earned a penalty for an arm deflection in the box by Dumfries himself. From the penalty spot Davis displaces Sommer.
.
But that wasn’t the end of it: Udinese continued to play on equal terms without giving up attacking, so much so that on 40′ they took the lead thanks to a restart exploited in the best possible way by Atta on the initiative of the same Davis. Inter has more than a time left to get the game back on its feet, but despite attempts by Thuram, Calhanoglu and Pio Esposito, as well as a goal nullified by the Var to Dimarco, the Bianconeri preserve the result and hand the hosts their first defeat of the season.
Lazio, on the other hand, bounced back from the knockout in Como, overwhelming a Verona side that never really took the field at the Olimpico. The Biancocelesti took the lead as early as 3′, when Castellanos served Guendouzi adept at finishing in a lightning fashion, beating Montipò. The double came on 10′ and bore the signature of the ruthless former Zaccagni, on net after a spectacular triangle with the same Castellanos. The unleashed Taty, after coming close three times to scoring a personal goal, signed the match at 41′ framing in the Verona net on Rovella’s free kick.
The resumption serves only for almanacs, although the first conclusion is by Verona with Serdar. Lazio, however, is quick to regain control of operations and goes on the hunt for the poker first with Cancellieri, then with the usual Zaccagni and Castellanos. After the changes ordered by Sarri, Pellegrini also tried, but to close out the game was Dia in the 82nd minute on a perfect assist from Belahyane.
