Friday evening, in Bergamo, Italy takes on Estonia’Estonia. It is the Azzurri&#8217s third match in Group I of the qualifiers for the upcoming World Cup. To date, the national team has earned three points, having won with Moldova but lost to Norway (first with 12 points overall after four matches).

New coach Gattuso is called upon to shake up the entire Azzurri environment. A convincing win against the Estonians is needed to try to keep up with Norway and take advantage of any missteps. The national team&#8217s coach is grappling with many doubts about the starting eleven to be fielded Friday night in Bergamo.

No doubt about who will play in goal. Defending the posts of the Azzurri goal will be Donnarumma, fresh off his contract with Manchester City. Four-man defense with Di Lorenzo and one of Cambiaso and Dimarco as outfielders. In the center, Bastoni and Calafiori seem certain of a starting jersey.

In midfield there are many question marks. Gattuso could play with the tried-and-true 4-3-3 or a more offensive 4-2-3-1. In the first case, Barella, Locatelli and Tonali as midfielders and trident with Politano, Kean (at the moment definitely favored over Retegui) and Zaccagni. In the other option, Barella and Tonali in front of the defense with Politano, Raspadori and Zaccagni behind Kean’s only point. The feeling is that Gattuso is leaning more toward a 4-3-3 but more will be known after the next tactical training sessions.
