Gennaro Gattuso starts with a manita after a blank first half

Gennaro Gattuso began his adventure as coach of the Italian national team with a clear 5-0 victory over Estonia in the second match of the in the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup.
It was not all perfect in Bergamo, however, as despite several goal chances created, the first half ended 0-0: quite a problem given the importance of goal difference should they finish tied on points with leading Norway.
The Azzurri unblocked the match in 58′ with a close-range header by Kean on Retegui’s backheel assist. The same Fiorentina center forward came close to doubling the score two minutes later, hitting the post.
Taking care of the score later were Retegui himself with a brace and Raspadori. In the recovery, Bastoni’s header completed the goleada.
