Sunday night will see the 15th clash between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, a match that is worth so much since the US Open trophy is up for grabs. Before the final, Simone Vagnozzi spoke to SuperTennis.

“To get to another Slam final is something fantastic, incredible. In the past few days he had a little bit of discomfort in his abdomen but after treatment with the physiotherapist it passed. With Félix Auger-Aliassime, when he came back, in the first few games he didn&#8217t really know how he was and so he didn&#8217t force. Then he started to push and his service got better and better”.

The outfielder’s coach also pointed out the change in Sinner: “He has changed, he is becoming more tactical. He used to play only on himself, now he can work on the opponent&#8217s weaknesses as well. The ball goes very fast, it is difficult to change so much, but we always look for some solution. The final will be a very complicated match, Carlos will try to do something different than the Wimbledon final, so we have to prepare ourselves”.

In the 14 previous matches between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the South Tyrolean holds a 5-9 disadvantage. The two last faced each other in Cincinnati, when Sinner had to leave the match due to an illness.
