Tragedy in Colombia: 16-year-old soccer player dies in car accident

The world of soccer is deeply shaken by the death of Éder Smic Valencia Ambuila, a very young soccer player just 16 years old. The boy died following a car accident in Guachené, about 45 kilometers southeast of Cali.

Advertising the boy’s death was the club where he played, l’Academia Alemana de Fútbol Popayá: “With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our player Éder Smic Valencia Ambuila, 2009 category, due to a car accident while on vacation in his hometown Guachené”.

“At this very difficult time our prayers go out to his family, friends and teammates. Valencia will forever remain in our hearts. We ask respect for his family and our institution at this time of mourning” reads the official note.
