No reconciliation for Nuno Espirito Santo: Nottingham Forest fires him

Nuno Espirito Santo’s adventure at the helm of Nottingham Forest has ended in the worst way. The Portuguese coach was exonerated by the English club after only three days of the new Premier League season and, more importantly, after, only a few months ago, his contract had been renewed until the 2028 season.
“Nottingham Forest Football Club confirms that, as a result of recent circumstances, Nuno Espírito Santo was today relieved of his position as head coach. The Club thanks Nuno for his contribution during a very successful period at the City Ground, particularly for his role in the 2024/25 season, which will forever be fondly remembered in the Club”s history, the official Nottingham Forest note.
At the root of the divorce an irremediable rift with patron Marinakis. The’now former coach had highlighted the problems with the club’s top management, perhaps because of different visions on the market (spent over 230 million euros, among the arrivals also Ndoye, Savona and the quoted Douglas Luiz, also former Juventus).
Despite an attempt at reconciliation, the exoneration came. Now to be seen who will take the Portuguese coach’s place at the helm of the Tricky Trees. According to several English media, the announcement of the new coach should come soon. Several names are on the list, that of Thiago Motta also appears.
