Giulio Pellizzari to scream: solo feat at the Vuelta

Memorable day for Giulio Pellizzari, who conquered the seventeenth stage of the 143.2km-long Vuelta de España, starting in O Barco de Valdeorras and finishing in Alto de El Morredero, giving Italy its first success in the Spanish race.

The Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe rider made a decisive attack with 4km to go, celebrating his first career victory, ahead of Thomas Pidcock (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) and Jai Hindely (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe).

Fourth place for Jonas Vingegaard (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) who retains the red jersey with a 50-second lead over Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), who finished stage 17 in fifth position.

Thursday, Sept. 11, the first and only individual time trial of the Vuelta is scheduled, only 27.2 kilometers long, with start and finish in Valladolid.
