Naples, from Lukaku to Rrahmani: Dr. Canonico sheds light on injuries

Dr. Raffaele Canonico, head of Napoli’s medical staff, spoke to the microphones of Radio CRC shedding light on the injuries to Romelu Lukaku and Amir Rrahmani, who went down with the Kosovo national team in the match against Switzerland.
“With Lukaku we spoke last night – he began -, he is proceeding well with his rehabilitation process according to what was the set timeframe. It should be clarified that Romelu had a very important injury to the rectus femoris with also involvement of one of the two insertional tendons. Two paths were available: conservative and interventional, surgical. The boy decided to pursue the former, considering also that the timing is similar”.
“He is in Belgium, subject to authorization by our medical staff– added the Parthenopeans’ doctor -: I have a’continuous interaction with the therapists and the colleague who is following him there. In a couple of weeks one of our therapists will also go up to Belgium to also evaluate live what he is doing, with the understanding that we get daily reports on his progress. Everything under control and supervised by us”.
.
Discussed differently, however, for Rrahmani: “He had a minor injury: a low-grade hamstring injury. He has already started the rehabilitation process. Muscle injuries can have a prognosis of 2 to 10-12 weeks and it depends on various factors: this is a minor injury, so I think he will miss a couple of games. Against Pisa? He could be available, considering that there’s also a typical week then after Pisa to get to Milan. After the clinical recovery, the sporting recovery and inclusion in the group must be completed: these are aspects that go with the schedule”.
Finally, no problem as far as David Neres is concerned: “He had a fatigue on the day of the finish, before the game. Having two weeks without games ahead, we didn’t want to risk it against Cagliari. It was a minor issue that was going to be resolved in a few days: these weeks were precisely to allow him to recover”.
Idem for Alessandro Buongiorno: “He has been training with the group since Castel di Sangro, he also came in with Cagliari and there is nothing to add about him: he is fully recovered”.
