Federica Brignone makes her fans tremble

Federica Brignone is in the midst of rehabilitation to recover from the serious injury suffered at last year’s Italian Alpine skiing championships, but the’Olympics goal is getting more and more complicated. “My health is worth much more than a sporting event, and this must be very clear, in my head it already is. I am 35 years old and hopefully many more ahead. If I can make it back for this winter, fine, if I feel like trying again a year later because I can”t succeed this year I will try again” he said in an interview with La Repubblica.
L’Azzurra had fractured her tibia and fibula, as well as ruptured her left ACL: “My goal is to get back to living my life and be a healthy woman who can play all the sports she likes. For me that is the main focus, besides coming back this winter. I want to return to skiing, I think I will make it, it is a challenge I want to accept”.
The priority is not Milan-Cortina 2026: “There is no date yet for the return on skis, that time is far away: side-running, blocking, no no, I am absolutely not ready. It has happened now, we can live in the present and most importantly create a good future for ourselves. Accidents happen, but we decide how much they can hurt us”, concluded l’Azzurra.
The support of female colleagues has been crucial in these difficult months. Sofia Goggia, who visited her during rehabilitation, expressed confidence in her teammate’s recovery: “I visited her in Turin, found her positive, as always. Now she has undergone a second operation, so for her the hard part comes now. But I am sure she will recover one hundred percent”. Elena Curtoni and other international colleagues such as Kajsa Lie also visited the Italian champion.
