Nick Kyrgios’ former coach asks questions about Jannik Sinner after knockout with Carlos Alcaraz

Nick Kyrgios’former coach of Nick Kyrgios Simon Rea expressed at the microphones of The Tennis podcast some doubts about Jannik Sinner’s condition after his defeat against Carlos Alcaraz in the US Open final. L’Azzurro, according to Rea, succumbed too easily to the Spaniard and perhaps had physical problems.
“It seemed that way to me. When he is at his best I marvel, against Alcaraz he seemed to be missing a gear or a level. Watching him over the course of the match, my suspicion increased”, Rea said.
“I don“t know if it was stomach problems or what, but it certainly looked like something was preventing him from serving at his best”.
Sinner in the semifinals against Auger-Aliassime had asked for a medical timeout, but then the problem had receded. After the final, the Blue had denied having any physical problems, and had instead pointed the finger at his tennis, deeming it too “predictable” for someone like Carlos.
