World Track & Field Championships: Battocletti by a scream takes silver. Fabbri bronze in the weight

Two more medals for the Italian expedition at the World Athletics Championships being held in Tokyo. Nadia Battocletti won the silver medal in the 10,000 meters at the end of a great race: the athlete from Trentino, who repeated the second place obtained at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finished in 30:38.23, behind only Kenyan Beatrice Chebet. Third place went to Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay.
The champion d’Europe expressed all her satisfaction after the race: “I realized what an athlete I am, I am really incredulous about the race I did. I thank everyone. I am incredulous”, she told RAI microphones.
Great satisfaction also for Leonardo Fabbri, who won the bronze medal in the shot put. L’Azzurro finished with a measurement of 21.94, good enough for third place behind the U.S. Ryan Crouser and Mexico’s Uziel Munoz.
Despite the disappointment for Larissa Iapichino, who did not even qualify for the final, Italy climbs to three medals at the World Championships with two silvers and a bronze.
