The legend of Armand Duplantis continues: the Swedish star won the gold medal at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, dominating the pole vault final as usual. Duplantis is unrivaled and was competing mostly with himself: this time he managed to beat himself, again touching the world record in the discipline.

With a measurement of 6.30, Duplantis set the 14th world record, the fourth in 2025, driving the Japanese audience in the stands crazy. The previous record of 6.29 had been set in August in Stockholm.

The run on Bubka, who managed to set as many as 35 world records in his career, continues.

Duplantis, 25, won his third gold medal at the World Championships, ahead of Greece&#8217s Emmanouil Karalis, silver with a measure of 6 meters, and Australia&#8217s Kurtis Marschall, bronze with 5.95.

Duplantis has not missed a competition in 780 days, and has collected 10 consecutive golds between World, European and Olympic Games.
