Marco Bezzecchi studies Marc Marquez: "Landmark"

Monday’s tests in Misano were important for all the MotoGp riders who participated, and Marco Bezzecchi returned to comment on the San Marino Grand Prix weekend (“A really intense race in the finale”) and then dwelt on the dominance of Marc Marquez, who in 2025 has left little to his opponents.
“The Spaniard of Ducati is the reference point,” he admitted to the microphones of Sky Sports, “we must study him, improve, and then aim to beat him. We must work carefully to be ready for a complicated but crucial” phase of the season.
“We have made progress, but we are still missing something,” added the Aprilia centaur. “We need to be able to get to the end of the race with more grip, because that is where the others can make the difference”.
The Misano tests saw Pedro Acosta of the KTM top the standings with a time of 1:30.374, followed by Alex Marquez on Ducati Gresini and Bezzecchi himself, who finished third with the’1:30.727. A result that confirms the progress of the Aprilia and the competitiveness of the Rimini rider, fresh from his victory in the Sprint Race the previous Saturday. Marc Marquez, for his part, preferred to keep a low profile, completing just 7 laps in the second session and stopping in sixth place with 1:30.871.
The San Marino weekend represented a special moment for Bezzecchi, who took victory in the Sprint race right in front of the home crowd. The fall of Marc Marquez seven laps from the end paved the way for the success of the Aprilia rider, who, however, had already shown that he could compete on equal terms with the championship ruler. The celebration on the podium with the “Garpez” – homage to the famous movie “Three Men and a Leg” – had added a touch of originality to the home party.
In post-race statements Sunday, Bezzecchi called Misano“one of my best races” despite the fact that the final victory eluded him due to a mistake that allowed Marc Marquez to overtake him and go on to win. However, the Aprilia rider showed great satisfaction with the level of competitiveness achieved: “I am very happy, also because Ducati at this time is superior to us” he said, emphasizing the value of the performance against a technically superior bike.
Marc Marquez’s 2025 season continues to be dominant despite some minor stumbles such as a crash in the Misano Sprint. With a 182-point lead in the overall standings and 11 wins to his credit, the Ducati Spaniard is now one step closer to the world title, which would represent his return to success after a six-year fast. For Bezzecchi and l’Aprilia, however, the progress shown in Misano is an encouraging sign ahead of the season finale.
