Matilde Lorenzi, Marco Degli Uomini and Matteo Franzoso: three talented young skiers dead in less than a year

That of Matteo Franzoso, who passed away in Chile after a disastrous fall, is the third tragic death of a young Italian skier in the space of not even a year.

Matilde Lorenzi passed away on Oct. 28, 2024, in Bolzano, Italy. The 19-year-old from Turin, considered a promise of Italian skiing, had fallen during a giant slalom training session on the Grawand slope in Val Senales.
