Roma, Paulo Dybala must stop: will miss derby and more

Bad news in the Roma household just days before the league derby against Lazio, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 21 at 12:30 p.m.: Paulo Dybala, in fact, has suffered a muscle injury that will force him to a certain absence of at least two weeks, which will be followed by a period of daily evaluation to define the recovery time.
The Argentine, substituted in Roma’s losing match against Torino (0-1) after halftime, will not only miss the derby della Capitale but will also not be available in the Europa League at home to Nice on Wednesday, Sept. 24, nor in the subsequent league game at the Olimpico against Hellas Verona on Sunday, Sept. 28.
Possible to return directly in October: on Thursday 2 the Giallorossi will be engaged with another French league team, Lille, while on Sunday 5 they will face Fiorentina in the league, before the new break for national team activity. For Roma, this is no small tile, even in light of a poor start to the season in terms of goals scored, just two in three games.
Dybala, unfortunately for him, is no stranger to stoppages for physical problems, of various kinds: since he has been at Roma, he has missed as many as 37 matches so far in the league, and the last time he was on the field in at least 30 of the 38 Serie A matches was in the 2019-2020 season, when he collected 33 appearances in Italy’s top tournament.
