Inter, Pio Esposito enjoys the moment and reveals what he needs to improve on
A great performance in his first Champions League match (as a starter, in place of Lautaro Martinez) was enough for him to end up in the spotlight. So many have discovered Pio Esposito. His coach, Cristian Chivu, was already convinced of his qualities, so much so that he made him a starter in a very delicate match.
On the field, Pio Esposito showed what he is capable of: great defense of the ball, excellent work in support. He only missed the goal but, for sure, he will have other opportunities to get on the scorers’ sheet. Meanwhile, he made it clear to everyone that he’s also among the options for the Nerazzurri’s attack.
At the end of the match, the Blue explained, very lucidly, what he is working on to become an even more complete player: “I am working a lot on explosiveness and quickness in the first steps. And presence in the box. I can improve in everything. I am young, so I have room for improvement. The strengths, however, are protecting the ball, playing with the team” his words to Sky Sport.
Clear ideas and a lot of determination, the one that led him to fulfill his childhood dream of playing in the Champions League. Thanks to his great performance with Ajax (Federico Dimarco gave him a 7.5 grade), Pio Esposito has earned everyone’s respect. When the opportunity comes, he will be ready, just as he did in the Champions League.
